Crop Cover Mixes

Salt Tolerant Mix (33.4 Lbs/Acre)

This mix was designed to help utilize and “dry out” those wet areas that have developed salt. Although the primary use is to rehabilitate salty soil, all species also produce good forage.

Barley

Canola/Rapeseed

Sudangrass

Sunflower

Fall Mix (21 Lbs/acre)

This mix is designed for added fall grazing that may extend into winter. All plants are very cold tolerant. Lentils also provide great grazing and also provide nitrogen fixation. Forage Turnips and Rapeseed elevate compaction and contributes to grazing. This is a good mix for aerial seeding.

Nitrogen Mix (62 Lbs/acre)

This mix is designed to fix large amounts of Nitrogen while producing significant amount of forage. Consisting of four varieties of legumes, a warm season grass and a cereal grain, we maximize nitrogen fixation and forage tonnage. This mix works well when planted in early summer and precedes cash crops that require large amounts of Nitrogen.

Radish/Turnip Mix (5 Lbs/acre)

An economical mix designed for forage late into the fall with the added benefits of alleviating soil compaction and scavenging nutrients for next year’s crop.

Soil Improver Mix (27 Lbs/acre)

Although this mix is primarily designed to improve soil health, all of the species in this mix will make good feed as well. All species combined will help to reduce erosion, capture soil nutrients, suppress weeds, and reduce soil compaction.
