Grass Mixes
Hay Mix (11 Lbs/Acre)
This mix is designed to produce large volumes of the most palatable hay. The species are all drought tolerant and combined with any variety of alfalfa tonnage is maximized, while the potential for bloat is minimized. The grass and legume mix also makes the stands more resistant and helps swaths to dry.
Alfalfa
Meadow Bromegrass
Intermediate Wheatgrass
Pubescent Wheatgrass
Flood/Wetland Mix (5.75 Lbs/acre)
This mix is designed to thrive in those areas that are chronically wet and struggle to maintain a stand of grass. All species tolerate continuously wet conditions and over time a sod should form using these species. All species are palatable to livestock.
Reed Canarygrass
Creeping Foxtail
Canada Wildrye
Switchgrass
Western Wheatgrass
Slender Wheatgrass
Grazing Mix (9.5 Lbs/acre)
While this mix can be hayed, it is designed for grazing. Cicer Milkvetch is a non-bloat, rhizomatous legume with a hard seed count. This causes the stand to establish slowly. It will not reach its full potential until the 3rd year. Once established, it thrives under grazing pressure and is almost impossible to kill. We recommend this mix for fields with a long term horizon of 10 or more years.
Cicer Milkvetch
Meadow Broomgrass
Grazing Alfalfa
Salt Mix (8.8 Lbs/acre)
This mix is designed to tolerate highly salty areas, only the most salt tolerant grasses were used. In addition all three species are highly palatable and will have an unlimited stand life. Pure stand of Russian Wildrye is also very effective.
Green Wheatgrass
Slender Wheatgrass
Tall Wheatgrass
Western Wheatgrass
Pasture Mix (10.5 Lbs/acre)
This mix is designed to maximize tonnage, while building a durable stand. The creeping rooted alfalfa helps to boost protein content and tonnage while maintaining a durable stand for grazing. The wheat grasses and meadow bromegrass are all highly palatable, are productive in dry conditions and help to form a sod that hold up to traffic.
Meadow Bromegrass
Intermediate Wheatgrass
Pubescent Wheatgrass
